Skilled Nursing in Corpus Christi

Summit Home Health & Hospice has been Medicare-certified and is dedicated to providing high-quality, multidisciplinary home healthcare services by a team comprised of highly-skilled healthcare professionals. Our goal is to provide personalized care, under the supervision and guidance of a doctor, to ensure that our patients live as comfortably as they can. To coordinate transitional services, we offer skilled nursing.

Skilled nursing involves health assessments, teaching about clients’ medical conditions, managing their disease, drawing samples for laboratory testing, wound care, including dressing changes, medication management and training, compliance with IVs, and management of IVs, as well as teaching. Your doctor can refer you to a licensed or practical nurse. Registered nurses can be reached 24 hours a day. Nursing staff can create a customized treatment plan based on the instructions of your doctor.

If you have any questions regarding our skilled nursing services please don’t hesitate to contact or schedule an appointment. We believe that healthcare should be shared by clients, their families, and their healthcare professionals.

Corpus Christi Therapy

Summit Home Health & Hospice offers the following therapy services in your community and/or home:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy

Physical Therapy
A physical therapist examines each patient to determine their functional capabilities. Then, he or she creates a rehabilitation strategy that is realistic. The doctor will consult with the patient and his family to devise home exercises to improve strength, range of motion, and endurance gait training.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is a form of treatment that can be used for someone with difficulty with different functional issues. It can be hard to dress, wash, shop, and transport food or other personal items safely. People with more severe conditions, like multiple sclerosis and heart disease, as well as arthritis, cancer, and stroke, can also consider occupational therapy. Occupational therapists work closely alongside patients and caregivers.

Speech Therapy
Speech and language pathologists assist patients with communication and cognition. They also assist with swallowing problems and other disorders. This is a broad range of services that can be provided to people with language, speech, or thinking skills and fluency. Speech and language pathologists can offer specialized training to patients who have difficulties swallowing.
